3rd & 4th Class 2024
September
During this busy month we learned about Irish Folktale Creatures. Irish folktales are full of fascinating creatures. As part of the our writing genre we wrote a recount about an exciting day!
We also celebrated European Week of Sport during September. We visited all the active stations and took part in different activities. It was great fun!
October
Fourth Class designed a 3-D model of the three stages of a river journey. We wore our favourite jersey on Jersey Day. Our Class visited Kilmallock Library and we dressed up in scary halloween costumes!
November
For Science Week we conducted various experiments, the most popular one being the effects of tea/coffee on our teeth experiment!
December
We all helped to create a magical Winter Wonderland with beautiful artwork and lighting !!
​January and February
During January and February we finished reading a wonderful novel called Féile Fever written by Joe O'Brien.
March
As a creative writing exercise, we wrote about how to catch a leprechaun! There were many creative and expressive stories shared. This was a fun way to develop our Literacy skills!
To celebrate World Book Day we visited Kilmallock Library!
April and May
We really enjoyed our school 24hr Walkathon! The whole school community took part, we walked for 24hours. The Walkathon was held to raise funds for the school Astro Turf.
June
For our school tour we went to the Mardyke Arena in Cork! We took part in 8 different fun activities. Our favourite activity was the rock climbing. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day!
